So, yesterday it was my mums birthday and also happened to be the date for the Santa’s Express on one of the local heritage railway sites so we decided to have a family day out to it for mum and the little one. Really nice day out and the carriage were very nice and mum loved seeing little one get his present from Santa (a slightly creepy sounding hammer which laughs when you hit things but there you go (sounds like the Jigsaw puppet to be honest))’ which he loves despite the creepiness. Anyway, we were pulled by this lovely locomotive that I managed to get a fairly bad photo of but still, you can see ts a train and I was bale to get the above sketch from it which was nice and made or a nice way to remember and finish a lovely day.

Till next time!

So, decided to do another Bi-plane for day 836, this time however I managed to find this more modern version with a fully enclosed cockpit (that I genuinely didn’t know actually existed till I found it on Pinterest lol. Really nice looking plane actually and very quick to sketch which was nice with it also coming out quite nicely. Oh and it has sons seal of approval as well which is good!

Son demanded a bi-plane for day 835 so of course being the dutiful father that I am I decided to draw one for him (I mean it helps that I’m quite fond of the old WW1 style planes and the whole Biggles books). Not actually sure what this bi plane is other than that its a British marked one but by and large they all tended to look fairly similar back then. Son also likes the drawing which is the best seal of approval and a good thing so I’m happy and like that sketching the basic shapes is getting easier for me.

Day 834: Provence Sketch 2, France

Day 834: Provence Sketch 2, France

Another one from Provence in France with a very similar look to the previous days sketch, also done in a similar way to yesterdays (but maybe even looser than yesterdays). Loved the courtyard look of this one and the planters dotted around it and made them a bit of a focus for the sketch (or at least tried too).

Moving out of Paris we head back to Provence (which I think I have a couple of sketches from previously). Found this lovely image of some of the architecture that can be found there and had to sketch it. Again its in a very loose and scribbled style but I think this is probably more successful at rendering than it is when I try and do things neatly.

Just a random doodle of the famous Paris landmark Arc De Triomphe for day 832. Really chilled out sketch that came out really nicely I think and I like that the detailing is just scribbling but does actually look like it does in the reference (kind of, maybe). Not much else to say other than that though so here it is!

Lovely scene of this boat sat on a river being used as a planter rather which is quite a nice idea and gives a really nice scene. to sketch. Love the buildings alongside of it as well though all the flowers and plants were quite difficult to get down but I think i just about managed it. Still a lovely scene that I enjoyed sketching.

Just a random café in Paris for day 830. Meant to be in snow but not sure I got that shown in the sketch but still enjoyed the sketch and the look of the building. The bottom half is a bit scribbly but I think I managed to get the idea down for the bottom half of the reference image.

Day 829: Balcony View Paris

Day 829: Balcony View Paris

Saw this lovely balcony scene on Pintrest so thought this would make a lovely sketch to try and do, in the vain of the Paris fixation that I seem to have at the moment. Again it was really loose and quick with not much thinking going into it while I was doing it and I really like how it came out despite all the messy lines and scribbles.

Till next time!
