So, this is some more of the theming that exists at Thorpe Park, around Stealth in the form of a Radio van which, if I remember rightly does actually (or at least did) function as a working radio shack with announcements and stuff. Anyway, thought it would make a nice sketch and managed to get it done quite quickly given how much I got down in it. Definitely fairly good for whole time to quality ratio (or at least I think so and I hope you do too!).

Till next time!

So here we have the launch of the rollercoaster Stealth having just come out of the station. Beside it you can see the really nicely themed control booth, made to look like a speedway commentary box (or at least I think it is), which I think has the right look to it and thought would make a nice sketch. Quite a interesting view as well, as you can see under the track and look at all the magnetic brakes in the case of a roll back (the case of the coaster not making it over the top hat) and other gubbins.

So having decided I should just do a sketch or two of all the coasters in the park (though, I’m pretty sure I’ve done some sketches of Thorpe Park’s coasters before now, thinking about it) todays I got a sketch of Stealth done. This Accelerator coaster from Intamin is the fastest and tallest ride in the park and quite intense as well with its 0-80+ mph in around 2 seconds. Still, brilliant views from the top and again a nice little scene to sketch which I hope you lot enjoy!

So, this is another sketch from the Saw ride at Thorpe Park. This time though its the signature spinning blades theming at the bottom of the beyond vertical drop. Quite a cool bit of theming that’s seems a lot closer than it is while on ride and quite a fun scene to sketch, though a little difficult with all the details and lines going everywhere but I think I pulled it off!

So, another coaster from Thorpe Park, this time Saw – The Ride. A coaster with a 97 degree drop which makes for some pretty big suspense while going up the lifthill that I really enjoyed riding. Made by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH theres actually a fair few of these or very similar rides around but this is the only one I’ve ridden, though given the chance I’d love to try some others.

So, another sketch of a rollercoaster from Thorpe Park, this time of the one time record holder for most inversions, Colossus (held it with 10 inversions for several years) made by Intamin AG. Was one of the first extreme rollercoasters that I ever rode, and although its beginning to get a bit rough (and gives my wife a headache), I still like it and its a fun coaster!

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, another sketch of Nemesis Inferno for todays sketch this time as it goes down the first drop with the lifthill in the background and one of the themed buildings in the Amity Ville area of the park (which is separate to the actual area that the rollercoaster is in). Again another fun little sketch that came out really nicely which I hope you guys also like!

Time taken: 30 minutes

So, decided to combine two of my loves in life, drawing and sketching and Theme Parks and rollercoaster (plus, I recently bought Planet Coaster and so, Theme Parks are kind of stuck in my head at the moment). Anyway this is one of my favourite rollercoasters in the form of Thorpe Parks Nemesis Inferno, a B&M invert with some decent inversions and theming. Choose this image of the ride going through one of the turns over one of the bodies of water as I thought it made a nice scene and was interesting and fun to sketch. Quite happy with how it came out and I think it looks recognisably like a rollercoaster which is the main thing so that’s good. Definitely going to be doing some more of these sketches for you guys, so I hope you like them as much as me!

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, this photo was taken a while back when me and the wife were in London for the weekend. It’s of one of the tall office blocks quite close to Harrods and the expensive street where they have a Ferrari as a window display (at least I think that’s where it is). not sure if this is all of the building or only a part of it but there we go, still enjoyed the sketch and the outcome and actually managed to get a accurate amount of floors and windows into it!
