Day 635: Totnes Rail Station, Devon

Day 635: Totnes Rail Station, Devon

Reference view: google streetview

Time taken: 40 minutes

So, took a bit longer on this one but I’m not worried as I really enjoyed the sketch and the subject of it with its lovely view down the station and along the tracks in Totnes, though this isn’t the actual station that you arrive on with the steam train as this is the main line one. So, there we have it, a nice view and a sketch I’m happy with so a good day if you ask me.

Till next time!

Bit of a weird sketch here looking at it in the photo as I seem to have done it on some sort of weird angle but oh well, I’m sure its the camera’s fault and not my sketch. Anyway this was a photo of a pub towards the bottom of the high street in Totnes. I think it caught my interest as t looked a bit out of place in amongst the architecture around it and looked like it had similar architectural styling to a lot of the railway stations that I’ve seen around (which was probably hat drew me to it).

Unfortunately I cant tell you what its like as an pub as we didn’t really have time to go into anywhere in Totnes before having to get the train back but maybe we can return and try it out some other time!

Till next time!

Day 631: Totnes High Street

Day 631: Totnes High Street

Time taken: 30 minutes

So, for day 631 we find ourselves in the town OF Totnes itself. Definitely quite a unique place and the Bohemian label that it has is pretty well deserved especially as you get to the top of the town. It’s also one of the least driver friendly high streets ever what with it being very steep and very narrow and having people all over the place even on a cloudy and drizzly day like the one we went one.

From a architecture point of view though it has some lovely old looking building and interesting structures such as this gate way/archway half way up the high street. and some other buildings that I got some photos of. Hopefully from the sketch above you can see quite how narrow and steep the street was an how packed with people it was.

Till next time!
