Again were in the model village with its football stadium. A version of Wembley Stadium (name changed though to Wombley). Quite liked the building in this (though not that much of a football fan) and really like how the angles came out in this as the perspective seems to work really well. I did change one thing though as I couldn’t do with Arsenal beating Chelsea so swapped the score around using artistic licence!

Till next time!

Day 875: Babbacombe Model Village, Funicular Railway

Day 875: Babbacombe Model Village, Funicular Railway

Time taken: 20 minutes

So, this was another little scene of a Funicular railway which I struggled to get a good photo of due to its location. Still I managed to get this one and get this sketch from it so I’m not going to complain too much about it. Funnily enough though my favourite part of the sketch is the little car on the cliff to the right of the scene.

Till next time!

Day 784: Babbacombe Model Village Radar Scene

Day 784: Babbacombe Model Village Radar Scene

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, just a quick little sketch for yesterday of the mock up scene of a radar station at Babbacombe. Loved the amount of detail in this scene (and all of the scenes to be honest) and actually really enjoyed sketching it, especially the radar ball as the shape was a lot more interesting  than the shapes that I usually sketch. Anyway I hope you guys like the little scene!

Day 783: Babbacombe Model Village ‘Quarry Scene’

Day 783: Babbacombe Model Village ‘Quarry Scene’

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, this was a quarry scene at Babbacombe (or at least I’m assuming it was a quarry scene, I’m not really that sure). Anyway quite a nice little scene with some industrial going ones so decided to get a photo and then do a sketch of it. Liking how the buildings came out in it and the lorries. Didn’t include a lot of the surrounding foliage (or any to be honest) though I tried to show some of the rocks the scene was set it and was quite happy with how it came out.

Till next time!

Day 782: Babbacomb Model Village ‘Adam’s Family House’

Day 782: Babbacomb Model Village ‘Adam’s Family House’

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, for the second sketch from Babbacombe we have the Adam’s Family House which was a really nice little mansion and the first of several mansions throughout the display. The sketch unfortunately didn’t come quite as well as the train did but I still like it and it looks like a mansion so I achieved that. Not sure I got the whole effect of the foliage behind it though (all the miniature conifers, without which, foliage would be a whole lot more difficult here) which is annoying but I’ve got some more photo’s to try and nail it!

Till next time!

Day 780: Swarm ‘Thorpe Park’

Day 780: Swarm ‘Thorpe Park’

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, moving onto another one of the coasters located at Thorpe Park we have Swarm, a B&M wing coaster (where you sit either side of the track rather than above it) that’s a really nice and smooth ride (probably the smoothest coaster I’ve been on. Or at least it was last time I rode it). Anyway this is it going through the barrel roll above the destroyed station building. One thing I’m learning with these sketches is that coaster trains are hard to sketch. Anyway, hope you guys like it!

Till next time!

Day 777: Stealth’s Launch ‘Thorpe Park’

Time taken: 20 minutes

So here we have the launch of the rollercoaster Stealth having just come out of the station. Beside it you can see the really nicely themed control booth, made to look like a speedway commentary box (or at least I think it is), which I think has the right look to it and thought would make a nice sketch. Quite a interesting view as well, as you can see under the track and look at all the magnetic brakes in the case of a roll back (the case of the coaster not making it over the top hat) and other gubbins.

Till next time!

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, another sketch of Nemesis Inferno for todays sketch this time as it goes down the first drop with the lifthill in the background and one of the themed buildings in the Amity Ville area of the park (which is separate to the actual area that the rollercoaster is in). Again another fun little sketch that came out really nicely which I hope you guys also like!

Day 770: London Architecture 1

Day 770: London Architecture 1

Time taken: 25 minutes

So, this photo was taken a while back when me and the wife were in London for the weekend. It’s of one of the tall office blocks quite close to Harrods and the expensive street where they have a Ferrari as a window display (at least I think that’s where it is). not sure if this is all of the building or only a part of it but there we go, still enjoyed the sketch and the outcome and actually managed to get a accurate amount of floors and windows into it!

Till next time!
