Day 244: Disused Aldwych/Strand Tube Station – London
So today’s sketch is in London again, this time one of the old abandoned tube stations, known as Strand when it closed in the late nighties (at least I think thats’ right).
Was drawn to draw this thanks to the huge contrast between the tube station and the buildings around it. Sure I kind of lost that slightly with the crop but never mind, basically they are just no where near as striking as the red bricked tube station.
Again the sketch came out really nice. Its definitely a bit taller and thinner than the real life building but who cares, it still looks like it. I’m also really liking how these watercolour pencils are a lot smoother than any other normal colouring pencils I’ve used and have some really vibrant tones.
Will probably be doing another sketch of London tomorrow as I’m quite enjoying the buildings that google throws up for me but who knows. Anyway as usual, enjoy the sketch and I’ll see you tomorrow!
